Lia Petridis Maiello is a journalist, editor, radio and TV producer. She has been working as a journalist since 1994 for different German and U.S. American outlets. Her work appeared in die tageszeitung, der freitag, Badische Zeitung, Deutsche Welle, Financial Times Germany and ARD - German TV, ZDF - German TV, WBAI radio, Amsterdam News, Women's Media Center, Aufbau, New Yorker Staatszeitung and The Huffington Post.
She holds an MA degree from the German University of Bielefeld in the subjects of History, Social History and Modern Literature, and has also studied in Pisa, Italy. Since her move to New York City in 2004, she has worked as a journalist for print, online, radio and TV outlets, as well as a web-editor for an Internet Start Up, Wall Street Correspondent during the Financial Crisis, TV producer for Germany's two largest public TV stations, ARD and ZDF, the Press Liaison for a Congressional Campaign in New York City and served as a Media Consultant at a United Nations based Non-Governmental-Organization (NGO). In 2015 she attained a certificate in Integrated Communications from New York University (NYU). In 2016 she moved to Berlin and worked as a spokesperson for Parliament and the head of a political party. Currently she is freelancing for the American Chamber of Commerce Germany as an author for corporate publishing and TV producer for Arriba TV in Berlin.
